No. 001 · From the studio

A studio that builds, restores, and writes about software with a hand in it.

CLAj LABS is a self-funded venture studio. We ship our own products, take on Digital Restoration Engineering for legacy systems, and document the work in the open.

I.

Restoration, not rewrite.

We treat legacy systems the way a luthier treats an old instrument — diagnose first, preserve voice, repair what is broken, document what we changed.

II.

Self-funded by design.

A dual-track operator model — moonlight and modernize. No outside capital, no quarterly theatre. The cash flywheel funds the studio.

III.

In public, in progress.

Notes, instruments, and white papers live here as they're written. The lab is open while the experiments are running.

    Vidcap

A capture pipeline that worked once and never twice. Stabilized the spine, restored the fail paths, left the original voice intact.

    Alfred

An assistant of small, reliable tasks. Restoration was less about repair than about writing down what it was already doing.
