Lantern Network

A network of small signals that lost its keeper. Re-instrumenting the lamps; mapping which still hold light.

  1. 01

    Inventoried 47 endpoints; 12 responsive, 9 partially, 26 dark.

  2. 02

Telemetry shim installed. First week of readings suggests three hidden dependencies.

  3. 03

Drafted MMI baseline: legibility 2/5, observability 1/5, recoverability 2/5.

Vidcap

A capture pipeline that worked once and never twice. Stabilized the spine, restored the fail paths, left the original voice intact.

  1. 01

Replaced silent failure modes with explicit, named errors.

  2. 02

Added a reproducible smoke test — the first one this system has ever had.

  3. 03

Original author's comments preserved verbatim. They were right, and we owe them.

Alfred

An assistant of small, reliable tasks. Restoration was less about repair than about writing down what it was already doing.

  1. 01

Catalogued 23 implicit behaviors as explicit contracts.

  2. 02

Published the first internal white paper draft: 'On Documenting What Already Works.'

PC — Personal Compiler

A long-running personal tool that quietly rotted. Currently triaging which of its rituals deserve to live.

  1. 01

First pass: separate the 'still in use' from the 'still in muscle memory.'
